Extremadura is one of the most beautiful - and perhaps more unknown - regions of inner Spain. Many of the conquerors of America (Conquistadores) were born in its lovely cities – previously of Roman and Moorish culture, then medieval and aristocratic.

Among them TRUJILLO - home city of Pizarro - stands out. It has one of the most beautiful squares in Spain, a medieval castle and aristocratic quarters of mansions with coats of arms.

In this impressive framework of historical and artistic richness, approximately two hours away form Madrid (using the highway), CABAEX has its headquarters, the centre of permanent sale and exposition of SPANISH PUREBRED HORSES. Founded in 1993, it takes as reference the sale and selection centres that the European Associations of Breeders have, as it is the most reliable method to market and make the most of their products.

The 48 boxes at CABAEX have the necessary infrastructure for horse handling. They are facilities of current, simple and practical design.

CABAEX is formed by ranchers with the most ancient Spanish brands to current and fresh new stud farms with higher or lower marketing, but with an outstanding production. Visiting CABAEX is entering in contact with the production of 600 P.R.E. (Spanish Purebred) mares.

As a consequence of breeding conditions in Extremadura, extensive breeding with excellent pasture and perfect light and temperature conditions. All these conditions plus the richness of origins and lineages, makes this region’s horses exceptional in functionality and breed.

This is demonstrated by the great percentage of awards obtained by CABAEX breeders in the different morphological contests held in VERONA, SICAB, EQUUS CATALONIA, OVIEDO, SALAMANCA, TALAVERA, ZARAGOZA, PIEDRAHITA, ECUMAD, ZAFRA, TRUJILLO… Among other prizes we have <Breed Champions>, <Functionality Champions>, <Movement Champions> and <Best Stud Farm Prize>.

From Cabaex specimens of the stud farms of Extremadura are commercialized to different places, both in America (U.S.A., Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica…) and in Europe (France, Italy, England, Germany, Portugal…). In the same way, CABAEX is also represented in the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre (Royal School of Equestrian Art) and in the national stallion stock (Depósitos de sementales del Estado), by the specimens acquired by these institutions to breeder members of our sports club of the Spanish Purebred.
